THE ANGEL (Composer) As a record producer and recording artist, Brooklyn native, The Angel, pioneered an eclectic sound, both urban and electronic. She cut her teeth remixing The Pharcyde, The Brand New Heavies, Spearhead and Donald Byrd and producing records for Grammy nominee, Mystic, before being hired to bring her hip sensibilities to the world of film and television. Composing additional music for the film Gridlock’d (Polygram), starring Tim Roth and Tupac, opened the door to her complete score for the New Line feature Boiler Room, starring Giovanni Ribisi and Ben Affleck, and subsequent features The Heart of The Game (Miramax), the British cult hit KiDULTHOOD, festival favorite Gaia, the character study Bedrooms (SHO) starring Julie Benz and Moon Bloodgood, and most recently, the two UK youth features Everywhere and Nowhere and Demons Never Die, produced by Idris Elba. The Angel has also broken through the glass ceiling for female composers in TV scoring Standoff for Fox, and the second season of the Jada Pinkett-Smith TNT drama, HawthoRNe as well as episodes of The First 48 (A&E), Independent Lens’ Foto-Novelas (PBS) and Racing for Time (Lifetime) among others.
